Big Brother 8 (Finale)

:'-(

"Hooooooooow Saaaaaaaaaaad" - Amber

It's all over folks. Dick won, as I predicted. This was probably the most anticlimactic ending to a season ever. Actually, I think I say that every season of a reality TV show. It just fizzles at the end, watching these people for so long, you just feel how its going to end. Now Lost, there is a show that knows how to end a season. I digress, I'm off track. The big new was Eric didn't tell Jess his big America's Player secret while in the sequester house. Everyone found it enjoyable, and the big questions of the season were all answered for the house guest to react to live.

Survivor gives the finale 2 hours, I just don't see why Big Brother can't do the same. Maybe Julie Chen had a big dinner to go to, and had to jet out of there. I'll give you all the updates of the post show fun. Jess' mother posted on a message board that Jess' only question to her was "should I be mad at Eric" and her mother's response was "no." So way to go Eric Stein, you spent 3 months in a cool house, on TV, won 50 grand, and got to hook up with a hot cheerleader. I say it's a big win for Mr. Stein. And how about a big CONGRATS to Evel Dick Donato. He was mean, nasty, and over the top. He mocked peoples faith, eating habits, facial expressions, sexual orientation, speech, and character. He poured iced tea on a house guests head, burned the same house guest with a cigarette, and banged pots and pans over another house guests head. This is a man who has tried to humiliate all 13 of his other house guests, and at the same time tried to repair his relationship with his daughter. America, you voted, and you got it, THIS is what America wanted. It's amazing how this country thinks.

But I really do congratulate Dick. If he hadn't won, his whiny, ungrateful daughter would have won, and Dick wouldn't have seen a dime. And he did mastermind everything he had control over. With a little help from America, Dick deserved to win. I think Eric really deserved to win, and he really should have been given more money for the tasks, but oh well. I'm sure we will never see this type of twist again, it just wasn't fair to the contestants.

291 Days until Big Brother 9 folks, mark your calendars and Google widgets. For now, only 1 more day till Survivor China!

Weeds (Grasshopper)

"Thug is never having to say you're sorry." U-turn

When this season of Weeds started, I thought they were off their mark. But this is definitely the episode they found their stride. Not only is Andy back, with the Army storyline out of the way (I should say for now, cause everything comes back,) but we finally got to see Mary-Kate in her sister less debut. Nancy is now living the Thug Life full time, and U-turn is her teacher.

Nancy's training from U-Turn on being "Thug" includes a few rounds in the boxing ring. He tells her that the next day, she is going to get a surprise. That surprise is a surprise inspection of Conrad's crop. U-Turns grooming for Nancy to be his new Lieutenant doesn't look good, as she apologises to Hetylia and Conrad for kicking some of their crop. All of the U-Turns school of hard knocks is pretty light, and mostly humorous throughout the episode. So when U-Turn grabs Nancy's neck, and throws her against a wall, Nancy, and I suddenly realized how unfunny her situation actually is. But as Nancy goes on a Rocky like run up a hill with U-Turn and Marvin, we find out that U-Turn has high blood pressure, rendering him helpless on the ground. As Nancy goes off for help (and a banana since Marvin says he needs potassium,) Marvin gets his revenge for the mistreatment, humiliation, and suffering he has put up with working under U-Turn. And with a large forearm over U-Turns mouth and nose, it was lights out U-Turn. Marvin played the grieving friend well as Nancy ran back up the hill, without help, or bananas.

Now that U-Turn is out of the way, we can all breath a sigh of relief right? Probably not. Nancy still has a footlocker full of "heroinlicious" in her storage room. And after throwing a party at the request of Sullivan, I thought for sure someone would have opened it. Sullivan's attempts at sexual harassment bounce off Nancy like water on rubber, but from the previews it looks like every dog has his day. Andy came threw again for the family preparing the food for the party. He took $1000 and made it look like $5000, that was supposed to look like $10,000. Andy's conversation with Shane was nice, but I see trouble brewing for Shane as his mother becomes more distant. As one son looks to his mother for guidance, the other son looks to new found spiritual enlightenment, in the form of Mary-Kate. I'm referring to her as Mary-Kate because I don't remember her characters name, and I just assume that's how she acts in real life.

Doug once again shines as my favorite character in this show. Upset about not getting a house, and Celia getting closer to Sullivan, he decided to play golf. Hitting balls threw Celia's new windows, but instead of Titlist, these balls said WHORE on them. Doug doesn't stop there, he goes further in trying to now STOP the crap superhighway and fight the good fight to save the endangered, whatever that little rat thing is. Its comedy gold, that's what it is.

So what will happen next? Who will come looking for the heroin? Where are the DEA agents that were so interested in Nancy? And how long will Celia and Nancy stay friends? All that, plus Nancy is now a free agent again, so everything is coming up Nancy.....for now.

What You Watch

Summer is so much fun. The beach, sports, being outside with nature. For some people anyway. Summer is also long, and tiresome when you don't want to do "stuff." What you do want to do is watch TV, and in the summer, watching good TV might be a hunt. Sure their are diamonds in the ruff, but summer TV is not like the fall.

But today is September 18th, and fall is approching fast. Tonight is the last day of summer. Well, for me anyway. I know this is the last day of summer because Big Brother 8 ends tonight. For some of us, fall TV has started already. This is my favorite time of year, this is the time when everything gets started, and this is the beginning of what will get me through the cold and miserable winter. It's Fall TV time folks! And this is about what you watch, TV.

I mentioned the end of Big Brother. Tonight at 9 I will be watching the end of a 3 month obsession. 3 shows a week, with live feeds running 24/7. Sure, I think that Survivor, and The Amazing Race are much better reality TV shows. But nothing gets as in depth to a show than Big Brother. So tonight I will watch Evel Dick win, Danielle get upset, and Eric reveled as America's Player. If you don't know what any of that means, oh well, cause it's over tonight and it doesn't matter. What does matter is that Summer TV is over, and the Fall season is starting.

We have plenty to watch this fall, Heroes starts in 6 days. Survivor starts Thursday. The new seasons of Scrubs, the Office, My Name is Earl, and Emmy winner 30 Rock will start soon. With all the new shows starting, and continuing, I'm not sure how many I will be able to review. I'm sure that some shows will come and go as the season goes on (Watching K-Ville last night, I'm giving it 3 episodes, then the hook.) The one this I'm positive about is I love the fall, some people get pumped for football, but this is the season I get pumped for, so lets get started!
